New Making
Having trained for two years in traditional craft and making skills, and with component manufacture being an ongoing part of my clock repair work, I have experience with a wide range of metalwork production techniques, styles and finishes. Consequently I am able to create accurate reproductions of existing designs, or to design and build entirely new, bespoke objects.
All of my work is carried out using traditional skills and hand-making methods, informed by a modern understanding of materials science; this results in unique objects, imbued with their own character, and built to last.
Sometimes a design may also call for specialist skills that lay outside the range of a clockmaker; thanks to my years at West Dean College, I have an extensive network of highly skilled craftspeople with which I can collaborate, including furniture makers, jewellers, ceramicists and engravers.
